residential care homes
Landsker Child Care believe that those children and young people who require residential care deserve to be looked after and helped as much as any other child, perhaps even more. They deserve to be educated and have opportunities and experiences. They deserve to be valued and looked after. They deserve to enjoy their childhood...
We currently operate four registered mixed children’s homes across South and West Wales. (Neath Port Talbot and Pembrokeshire). . They are 3 and 4 bedded homes in rural locations offering a total of 13 places. These have all received perfect inspection reports from The Care Standards Inspectorate of Wales which reflect the dedication and commitment shown by us to each child in our care.
outreach support
Children and young people outside of residential care still need guidance and support. Whether a foster placement is experiencing difficulties and is in danger of breakdown or a young person is living alone for the first time we believe we have the skills and experience to ensure that the placement is successful.
Outreach support will provide a highly individualised and flexible package of care around the young person. This will reflect the specific needs of the placement, incorporating respite with focused guidance. This service provides real solutions to real problems.
education
A Welsh Assembly report into looked after children entitled Core Topics for Consideration states, “The educational experiences of looked after children remain patchy.” We are the exception to this.
Landsker Child Care consider education a fundamental part of children’s lives. We are a fully registered independent school with SEN Approved status: only the second independent school in Wales to achieve this.
Our dedicated teaching staff strive to realise the full potential of all the young people we educate, regardless of ability. Our classrooms are fully equipped with up-to-date resources and our children are taught a full curriculum- 6 hours a day, 5 days a week.
